New Age Discrimination Legislation

You may (or may not) have heard that a major change to the UK's discrimination laws is coming into force on the 1st October 2006.

For the first time ever it's going to be illegal for companies to discriminate against you on the grounds of age. Signifying the end of job adverts asking for things like "a minimum of 5 years experience" or people not getting an interview because they are a day over 50 and therefore "too close to retirement".

One of the changes you may see on ScotRecruit is that now when you leave your CV with us, it will be up to you whether you let us know your date of birth or not.

If in the past you've told us your date of birth and now want to remove it from your record you can log into your My ScotRecruit account and follow the "edit your CV" link.
